SEATTLE, WA – Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA) issued the below statement
about the announcement that Boeing intends to build the 737 MAX in Renton,
Washington following approval of an early contract extension with the International
Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM):
“I would like to congratulate Boeing and the Machinists for coming to the
table and hammering out this tentative labor agreement. It is also great news
that the 737 MAX would be built right here in Washington by the best workers in
the world. This shows what happens when both sides are working in good faith and
are willing to give and take.”
