Recently, I was honored to address 140 graduates of the SEIU Healthcare NorthWes...: Recently, I was honored to address 140 graduates of the SEIU Healthcare NorthWest Training Partnership's Advanced Home Care Aide Apprenticeship program. The need for home care services for our seniors and people with disabilities is growing much faster than the workforce trained to meet the need. The apprenticeship program is rising to meet this challenge by training more than 40,000 home care workers every year. Congratulations to the program's latest class of inspiring and skilled graduates. For more information: myseiubenefits.org
I was honored to take part in today's celebration of the Seahurst Park Shoreline...: I was honored to take part in today's celebration of the Seahurst Park Shoreline Restoration Project in Burien. This project is the result of collaboration by many partners, including the Army Corps of Engineers, the City of Burien, the Puget Sound Partnership and the Green/Duwamish Central Puget Sound Watershed Forum. This project represents 3,000 feet of newly restored shoreline. As a result, residents and visitors will enjoy better beach access and the salmon in Puget Sound will have an improved habitat.
